Dimboola's Brayden Culhane (left) and Declan Brown wrestle for a loose ball. The Roos' experienced leaders battled hard, but Southern Mallee Thunder proved too strong in a 107-point result.

Dimboola was held to just a goal in the first half, with their opposition piling on 12.7 (79) in their first couple of quarters.

They found the big sticks a bit more in the third, scoring 3.1 to the Thunder's 4.2, but weren't able to kick truly again in the last quarter, adding only a point to their score.

Final scores were Dimboola 4.2 (26) to Southern Mallee 20.13 (133).

Brayden Culhane was the only multiple goal scorer for the Roos, while Bailey Edwards and Harry McLeod gave the Dimboola defenders a hard time, booting four majors respectively.

Next week Dimboola are at home against Nhill.

Last time the sides met it was in round six, and the Tigers recorded a 148-point win.

Connor O'Dwyer and Riley McLaughlin were the better players for Dimboola in that game, while Nhill was led by Petros Politis and Tom Wheaton.

The Roos, after this week, only have games against the Burras, Horsham Saints and Stawell to complete their season.
